ArtsATL is a non-profit organization that promotes a healthy and vibrant arts community in metro Atlanta. We do this by providing a combination of thoughtful, critical analysis, news resources, commentary, programming and in-depth features of the city’s arts scene across all disciplines–visual art, design, music, dance, theater, books and film.
The online publication was founded in 2009 when The Atlanta Journal Constitution all but eliminated its cultural coverage. Two of the paper's principal thought leaders, Catherine Fox and Pierre Ruhe, knew that without a reliable criticism and news resource Atlanta’s creative community would be jeopardized.
Since then ArtsATL has worked to cultivate a thriving and diverse arts community within metro Atlanta by serving as a resource to those already invested in the community and by educating and enlightening audiences who are less acquainted with it.
